A Rose In Bloom

Better than I could be. Not as good as I’d planned.

Rainy Day Blues
The sunshine is gone and the cloudy, cold rain has snuck in. Part of me is happy because it gives me a reason to stay inside and work through all of the stuff that I need to in order to finish the semster. The other half of me is a little sad and nostalgic after having talked with my brother yesterday and him informing me that the Texas wildflowers look wonderful.

Here is a little song that my favorite lady first covered on this album in 1963...it kind of describes my mood...(P.S. She turned 61 on Saturday--Happy Birthday, Babs!)

When the Sun Comes Out

When the sun comes out
And the rain stops beating
On my window pane
When the sun comes out
There'll be blue birds 'round my door
Singing like they did before
That old storm broke out
And my man walked off
Left me in the rain
Though he's gone I doubt
If he'll stay away for good
I'd stop living if he should
Love is funny,
It's not always peaches, cream and honey
Just when everything seemed bright and sunny
Suddenly the cyclone came
I'll never be the same
'Til that sun comes out
And the rain stops beating on my window pane
If my heart holds out
Let it rain, let it pour
It may not be long before
There's a knocking at my door
Then you'll know the one I love walked in
When the sun comes out...
And the rain stops beating on my window pane
If my heart holds out
Let it rain, let it pour
It may not belong before
There's a knocking at my door
Then you'll know the one I love walked in
When the sun comes out...

My personal ad might as well read:

SBF with fake hair and nails seeks gold-toothed, gangster rap city thug to be my boo and share intense dance floor girations. Age not important but middle-aged, geri-curled men a plus!

Cause, yeah, those are the men who think that I am PHAT! And someday, when I finally break down and change my name to Sha'niqua Hennesey Johnson and settle down with my baby daddy to breed more playas, you will all wonder what happened to the simple Texas girl who swore that she would wait forever for her prince charming.

Today was gorgeous-period! I took my lunch and ate in the park just to soak up the eighty degree weather that has finally found its way to New York. And as I sat under a patch of trees enveloped in the sun's warm rays and my own joyous thoughts...a blob of bird shit landed on my head.

Yeah, just another sad reminder that my life is not a fairy tale no matter how much I wish it were.

FYI...

Hey gang, in case you didn't notice, I added a comments link to the blog at the urging of a certain Californian fan. So, if you feel like leaving a comment, cool. If you don't, not as cool, but no big deal either.

P-P-P-peace!

Voyerism Gone Wild

There is a place in the Village that requires you to leave your inhibitions at the door, to open yourself up to the possibilities of being entirely on display, exposed to the gaze of anyone who wants to look, completely unable to stop the stares. It is an experience that all parties must become comfortable with or the fun can quickly turn into anger, frustration and possibly even the feeling of being invaved. If, however, you are able to take what the night has in store and even enjoy the process of both being on camera and watching the others, then maybe you are ready for a night at the Remote Lounge.

If you look closely at April 10th, you might spot a few familiar faces...

To the right of my desk I have hanging on my wall a subway map for the New York City transportation system that I use daily for easy reference on how to best navigate my way around Gotham, And each day, as I peer at the colored lines drawing a pattern over all of the buroughs, I can not resist thinking just how much the island of Manhatten looks like the profile of a limp penis. I know, a little sick at worst, and entirely childish at best, but that is where I am. But seriously, look for yourselves and you will see what I mean.

This just in...

Although he worked in reverse..and may not be the most responsible person I know...and has had this lofty idea for much longer than any of us really thought he would stick to for so long...and because it makes him insanely happy...my little brother has just purchased this.

My mother is appropriately in hysterics...
