A Rose In Bloom

Better than I could be. Not as good as I’d planned.

Happy Anniversary!

For those of you keeping track, I have officially marked my first year living in New York City! I can hardly believe that it has already been a year, but alas, the debt and the impressive ability to take subway stairs without losing my breath are true testamants to my growth over the last year. It's been a tough one but I am slowly beginning to remember just how much the good outweighs the bad. I can remember the day that I moved here last year all full of worry and excitement and uncertainty...and then relief when I realized that I could do it. The game is a little different this time around as new challenges keep popping up but I'm dealing with it as I always do. So, even though I have no idea what the next year holds in store, I am thankful for the one past and look forward to what lies ahead!

Thanks to all of the people who have helped me through it...I continue to believe that I am truly blessed with some of the greatest friends in all the land!

To my adoring public:

The latest in a long line of crappy stuff brought on by service companies is that my DSL has been unwantingly disconnected. As such, I am only able to access a super slow dial-up connection every few days so posting will most likely be at a stand still until the issue is resolved, which should be sometime on Friday, August 27th (thanks Verizon for that speedy reconnection!). If anything super blog-worthy should arise between now and then I will dial-up and fill you in, otherwise, see you closer to the end of August.

An advertisement written on the Brooklyn bound "N" train:

Go ahead and hold the pole. Whatever's there is nothing compared to what's living in your fridge.

Kind of scary but really encouraged me to clean out my fridge, oh, and hold on to the pole.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!

Another year older, another year wiser...sort of.

After surviving the most exciting weekend I have had in, ummm, forever, today is officially my 24th birthday! And in case any of you feared that I didn't appreciate the birthday present to it's fullest, rest assured that my horoscope prepared me appropriately enough:

There's a most pleasant surprise on the agenda -- but if you were up late last night, you may already have received it. That doesn't mean there won't be another coming along today -- but don't be greedy.

Well, to all of the people involved in my birthday surprise, my dreams are sweeter at night thanks to all of you!

So here's a toast...
To another year past and another year yet to come...To friends, family, and the quest for happiness in all of its forms....To sunshine and clear skies and the ability to remember them when the clouds roll in....To each of you from the best of me...My cup runneth over!
